The Shura Council held its regular weekly meeting today under the chairmanship of H. E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Speaker of the Shura Council.
At the beginning of the meeting, H. E. the Speaker of the Shura Council conveyed in his name and on behalf of the Members of the Council the congratulations for His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir "may Allah protects him), to His Highness the father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani and to H. H. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Emir on the occasion of Qatari National Football Team winning the Asian Football Cup 2019.
His Excellency also congratulated the Qatari people, the expatriates in Qatar, Qatar National Football Team and both the coaching and administrative staff on this historic achievement.
His Excellency H. E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, stressed that the accomplishment of our national team was a fruit and natural result of proper planning, thoughtful thinking, national will and comprehensive strategic vision, which His Highness the Emir, laid their foundations, defined their frameworks, objectives and means so as to lead our steps and methods and to draw up the policies of our country in all political, economic, social affairs, sports and cultural activities.
His Excellency said that the achievement was a source of pride to the State of Qatar, to its people, to the expatriates as well as to all the people of the Gulf and other Arab countries. He further added that what increased the splendor of this great achievement, was the civilized behaviour, the high moral, high sportsmanship showed by all members of our national team that reaffirmed the authenticity and legacy of the people of Qatar, who draw their pride, ambition and their ability to challenge and make history, from the glorious past and the present filled with confidence, determination, strive and success under a wise leadership that protects the interests of its people and plans with conscious and responsibility for the future of the coming generations. The festivals and the celebrations took place on the occasion of winning of our national team of the Asian Cup Champions was a new occasion for citizens to affirm and renew allegiance and loyalty to their leadership.
The Speaker of the Shura Council expressed the gratitude and appreciation for the people in brotherly and friendly States that celebrated with us this achievement and who reflected through these spontaneous festivals their love, pride and support for the stances of the State of Qatar.
