The Shura Council participates in the meetings of the Arab Parliament committees in Cairo

The Shura Council participated in the meetings of the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament, which were held in Cairo today, in preparation for holding the fourth plenary session of the fourth session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, scheduled for the day after tomorrow, Saturday.

In this context, Her Excellency Mrs. Sheikha bint Youssef Al-Jufairi, Member of the Arab Parliament, Member of the Social, Educational, Cultural Affairs, Women and Youth Committee of the Arab Parliament, participated in the committee meeting.

The meeting reviewed developments in work on implementing the Arab strategy to promote volunteer work, and discussed developments in arranging the launch of the Arab Parliament document for Arab women.

The committee also followed up on the arrangements for holding a symposium on “Protecting Societal Values in the Arab World,” and studied, followed up and evaluated the impact of documents and legislation issued by the Arab Parliament, in addition to reviewing the report of the draft anti-bullying law in the Arab world, and following up on developments in the preparation of the social situation report in the Arab world for the year 2023, in addition to Discussing developments in preparing a parliamentary vision to create a database of destroyed Arab antiquities.

In her intervention during the meeting, Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Jufairi highlighted the ongoing efforts made by the State of Qatar to enhance its distinguished practices in various fields.

Within this framework, Her Excellency pointed out that the State of Qatar is developing education curricula and spreading the culture of scientific research, with a focus on cybersecurity, e-learning, and meeting the needs of people with disabilities.

In the field of health, Her Excellency highlighted the many initiatives aimed at enhancing scientific research, confronting climate change, and adopting a national program for rationalization and energy efficiency and a strategy for clean development.

Al-Jufairi stressed that Qatar's organization of the first carbon-neutral FIFA World Cup, and its support for the United Nations Climate Action Summit, reflect Qatar's commitment to enhancing international cooperation and achieving sustainable development goals and stability in the region.

For his part, His Excellency Mr. Salem bin Rashid Al Muraikhi, Member of the Arab Parliament and Member of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee, participated in the committee meeting.

During the meeting, the committee followed up on the position on implementing its recommendations issued at its previous meeting. The committee also met with the Chairman of the Arab Charter for Human Rights Committee to exchange views on ways of coordination and cooperation between the two committees.

The meeting also discussed the report of the joint committee concerned with supervising the preparation of the anti-bullying law in the Arab world, in addition to discussing the second draft of the draft report on the situation of human rights in the Arab world for the year 2023.

In turn, His Excellency Mr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mulla, member of the Arab Parliament and member of the Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee, participated in the committee meeting.

During the meeting, the Committee followed up on the implementation of the Committee's recommendations from the previous meeting. The meeting discussed political and security developments in the Arab world during the intersessional period, as well as a review of the themes and contents of the parliamentary vision to counter the travel of terrorists, criminalize their movement and movement between Arab States and review the final version of the report on the political situation in the Arab world for 2023.
