A Shura Council delegation participated in the works of the sixty-fourth annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), hosted by the Canadian Parliament in Halifax.
The session discussed the challenges facing European security and the Euro-Mediterranean security. The session as well discussed the outcomes of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government held recently in Brussels, and the results of the security, political and economic developments in North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf States.
It should be noted that the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO aims to promote solidarity among the members of the Alliance through gathering parliamentarians from NATO Member States in addition to members of partner countries and observers. The Assembly acts as an essential link between NATO and the parliaments of the Member States.
