The Shura Council State of Qatar

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, met today with HE Speaker of the Federal National Council of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Saqr Ghobash, and his accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting the country to attend the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed HE Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council and members of the delegation, noting the brotherly relations existing between the two sisterly countries.

For his part, HE Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council congratulated the State of Qatar on the success of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising the impressive and distinguished organization of the tournament, which is being held for the first time in the Arab region.

His Excellency also congratulated the State of Qatar, HH the Amir, the government and the Qatari people, on the occasion of the National Day, expressing his admiration for the renaissance and progress the State of Qatar is witnessing in various fields, wishing Qatar further progress, growth and prosperity.

During the meeting, they reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries, the existing aspects of cooperation in the parliamentary field, and ways to enhance them.

The two sides stressed the need to enhance coordination of positions between them in regional and international parliamentary forums in order to achieve the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, and support the interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellencies members and officials of the Shura Council, and the delegation accompanying HE Speaker of the Federal National Council of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.
