Speaker of Shura Council Returns to Doha

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud arrived back in Doha Friday from Rabat, after chairing the delegation of the State of Qatar at the 14th session of the Conference of Union of Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States and its accompanying meetings, which took four days.
The conference adopted the "Rabat Declaration", in which participants stressed the importance of democracy and the state of institutions, respect and preservation of human rights in the progress of society and its development and stability as a societal need.
They also affirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, affirming their solidarity with the Palestinian people in order to attain their legitimate rights to establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, strongly condemning the practices of the occupation's authorities towards the Palestinian people.
