HE Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Saad Eddine El Othmani met here today with HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, on the occasion of his visit to Morocco to participate in the the 14th session of the Conference of Union of Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States and associated meetings.
During the meeting, they discussed the existing relations between the two countries and means of boosting and enhancing them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Morocco Abdullah bin FHE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud stressed the permanent position of the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in support of the just cause of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, as well as Palestinian people's enjoyment of all their rights, including the right of return.
His Excellency said that the position of Qatar is clear regarding any solution that does not guarantee the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, saying that this is the position of Islamic countries, stressing that without guaranteeing these rights the so-called deal of century will fail.
The brotherly Palestinian people are still struggling and fighting and they have a determination to gain their rights, but so far things are unclear about what is being raised in relation to the so-called deal of the century, he said.
This came in a statement to reporters made by HE Speaker of the Shura Council on the sidelines of his participation in the 14th session of the Conference of Union of Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States, which is currently held in Rabat.
He pointed out that the conference discussed this deal and how to deal with it along positions towards it and its effects and repercussions on the Palestinian brothers in case it is approved, and considered its results bad in terms of its lack of guaranteeing their rights, foremost of which is the right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
His Excellency termed the Palestinian cause as the foremost of all Islamic causes, and said that Muslims attach a special attention to it and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the Qibla and the third of the two holy mosques, pointing out that in this sense, the conferees had a profound discussion on the Palestinian issue through the positions of their countries, whether Arab countries or countries that sympathized with the Palestinian issue after the transfer of some foreign embassies to Jerusalem.
HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said that the declaration that will be issued at the end of the conference will include several points in the draft final statement that are being studied and will include political, economic and cultural aspects, the situation in the Islamic region and other issues of concern to the Islamic world. This includes the fight against terrorism, extremism and the issue of migration, the positions of Muslim countries towards minorities whose rights are violated, the issue of dialogue among civilizations, cooperation between Islamic countries in all these matters, as well as the discussion of many other side issues.alah bin Abdullah Al Dosari, and a number of members of the Shura Council.
