Next Tuesday, the Shura Council will organize a seminar on the occasion of the International Day Parliamentarism, under the title “Parliamentary Diplomacy: The Role of Legislative Councils in Achieving Peace, Understanding, and Rapprochement Among Peoples.”
The seminar will include several important topics related to parliamentary diplomacy and its role in achieving peace and understanding. It will also address the opportunities and challenges facing parliamentary diplomacy in the modern era, the mechanisms of parliamentary work and how they contribute to enhancing international understanding, in addition to the goals of parliamentary work and its role in promoting international peace and security.
The seminar will also shed light on the concept of parliamentary diplomacy, the differences between it and traditional diplomacy, and how to use this concept to enhance international relations.
The seminar will feature talks by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Mahdi Al Ahbabi, His Excellency Mr. Youssef bin Ali Al Khater, His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie, and His Excellency Mr. Issa bin Ahmed Al Nasr, members of the Shura Council, as well as Dr. Bahaa El-Din Makawy, Head of the Department of International Affairs at the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University.
The International Day of Parliamentarism, which the world celebrates on June 30 every year, aims to highlight the importance of the parliamentary role and the challenges it faces. The Shura Council celebrates this occasion, recognizing the importance of popular participation in decision-making, and affirming its commitment to strengthening international parliamentary dialogue and cooperation to achieve a more just and sustainable future.
