Barron hopes that world countries would implement the IPU 140 decision on maternity health

The IPU President Gabriela Barron has reviewed the plans and programmes of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to adopt effective mechanism for the allocation of funs for improving maternity, newborn and child health.

Speaking at an IPU 140 workshop on the maternity and infant health, she said: “We have an important agenda regarding maternity and infant health. We hope to reach decisions that the countries would implement them regarding the necessary health care for mothers and infants.”

Meanwhile, she pointed out that there is a strong partnership between the IPU, the World Health Organization, and the various entities of the United Nations.
