The Shura Council Participates in a Conference on World Trade Origination

A delegation of the Shura Council left to Geneva to participate in the Trade Conference left to participate in the 2018 Annual Session of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO to take place in Geneva on 6 and 7 December, 2018.  

The Conference aims to exchange views, information and experiences, and future solutions. It also seeks to promote free and fair trade that benefit both developed and developing countries and to explore ways to promote development and poverty reduction, as preliminary information will be displayed on the recent developments in the Doha negotiations, known as the "Doha Round". A round of negotiations on the World Trade Organization, which started in November 2001 in the capital Doha, with the aim is to achieve the principle of free trade between the countries of the world. 

In 2002 the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO as permanent control regime of a parliamentary dimension for overseeing WTO activities and promoting the transparency of procedures was created.
