The Shura Council State of Qatar

His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, Speaker of the Shura Council, met today with H.E. Dr. Fadli Zon, Chair of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption GOPAC) and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the organization's functions and global role in fighting corruption were reviewed.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed cornering Qatar’s hosting the forthcoming 7th Conference of the Organization on 8 and 9 December 2019, which includes parliamentarians from 106 countries and 55 national chapters around the globe.

The memorandum was signed for the Shura Council by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, Speaker of the Council, and for the GOPAC by the organization's president, Dr. Fadli Zon.

Doha's hosting of this important conference is a recognition of Qatar's role in combating corruption and of its support to the great efforts and ability of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir, in the field of combating corruption, establishing transparency and good governance.
