He holds a PhD in Electronics and Information Technology Engineering. He worked as a faculty staff and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Qatar University. He established the Computer and Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Interior, and was appointed as its director. Then he as appointed as director of the Statistics Department at the Planning Council, and established e-government and appointed as its director. He became a senior advisor at the Supreme Council for Communications and Information Technology.
He was appointed as a member of the Supreme Council for the Environment, a member of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), then the Vice President of the Wireless Amateurs Association, and CEO of Qatar Life Pharmaceutical Factory (the first pharmaceutical factory in Qatar).
