He holds a diploma on military sciences from Sudan and a master’s degree in military sciences from Saudi Arabia. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the College of Administration and Economics. He had promoted tomany military positions and served as the Commander of the Armor Corps and Commander of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade and was the commander of the Kuwait Qatari Brigade that participated in the liberation of Al-Khafji region in the State of Kuwait.
He was appointed Minister of Health, and then Minister of Municipality and Agriculture. He was appointed a member of the committee to draft the permanent constitution of Qatar.
He was elected Chair of the Public Services and Utilities Committee in the Shura Council, and Chair of the Qatari-Arab Parliamentary Friendship Group. He was awarded many medals and decorations.
