Your Excellencies Speakers of the legislatures and heads of delegations,
Ladies and gentlemen,
May Allah’s peace and mercy be upon you,
I am pleased to express in my name and in the name of members of the delegation of the Shura Council participating in this Conference, our gratefulness to the Hashemite Kingdom, chiefly His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom and the brotherly people of Jordan for hosting this conference and for their reception and thanks are conveyed to His Excellency Engineer Atif Ali Al-Tarawneh, the Speaker of the Jordanians House of Representatives Parliament, as well as to the Chair and the secretariat of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union for the kind invitation, good preparation and organization of this conference.
Brothers and sisters,
We meet today in this conference, which deals with one of our sacred places and under the slogan which we long cherished and dreamt and which
hope it to be a real fact soon, by the Will of Allah. It is Jerusalem the eternal capital of the State of Palestine. It is a sublime goal for which
every Arab, Muslim, and every supporter of the justice strives to achieve. The frantic attempts by the Israeli entity and by those who support Israeli entity to abolish the Palestinian cause and end the right of returning to their homeland will not change the historical facts or the natural rights of the Palestinian people and of all Muslims and Arabs in Jerusalem, the first Kiblah and the third holiest shrine. There is no more proof to this fact other than the Grand Marches for the Right to Return to Homeland the major weekly return marches towards the Gaza borders, which affirms the determination of the Palestinians to return to their homeland in the occupied territories since the year 1948, no matter how long and the patience perseverance becomes dear.
Brothers and sisters,
We reaffirm from this platform that our defending Jerusalem is legitimate duty and the support of our brothers stationed in its suburbs is an obligation and responsibility for they are defending the sacred places for Arabic and Islamic nations.
If we don't openly declare our rejection of the practices of the Israeli occupation, support to the decisions of the Palestinian people, call for international protection for them and take a common position on any transactions
that do not return the robbed rights to its people, then these attempts may succeed in wasting the offered sacrifices, will not achieve justice, will not free the captives, or heal the wounded or honor the blood of the martyrs. Rather they will lead to a permanence of instability and violence, which will make our nation an easy prey for its enemies, a target for their criminal designs and for inflaming the region with wars and disorder under the and multiple names and pretexts.
Brothers and sisters,
We in the State of Qatar anguished to daily see forms of oppression, killings, arrests and torture practiced by the occupying usurper against our brothers in Palestine, occupied at a time when many gave up their support. Praise be to Allah, the Qatari people led by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir have resolved their determination and demonstrated sincerity in standing with the Palestinian people in every single way, and over time even until they recover their legitimate rights. Qatar had and is will remain supportive of our activist brothers and sisters in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Qatar will never abandon them based on its believe in the right of our brothers in religion and Arabism and in adherence to the ethical responsibilities that require the stand with the just cause and to support the oppressed.
The State of Qatar maintains its firm position on the Palestinian issue based on the international legitimate resolutions and the Arabic peace initiative based on a two-States solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with the holy Jerusalem as its capital. Qatar calls the United States for neutrality and impartiality so as to act as play the role a mediator which all parties accept its sponsoring of peace talks leading to an independent Palestinian State on its borders established by international legitimacy, Qatar also believe that forging a partnership of the permanent members of the UN Security Council and under the auspices of the United Nations could push the peace process forward, and lead to settlements acceptable to all parties.
In conclusion we would like to express our sincere wishes to his Excellency Engineer Atif Al-Tarawneh to success in chairing the current session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, and to express our appreciation for the efforts and endeavours of His Excellency Dr. Ali Abdul AAL during his presidency of the previous session of the Arab Inter- Parliamentary Union. We hope that this conference of ours will come out of resolutions that restore for Jerusalem its dignity and glory forever and eternally as the capital of the free and independent State of Palestine.
