The Shura Council is participating in the meetings of the high-level parliamentary working group on technology, innovation and digital transformation of the Arab Parliament, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, for three days.
Representing the council at the meetings is HE Member of the Council Dr. Ahmed bin Hamad Al Muhannadi, who is also a member of the executive bureau of the working group.
During the meetings, several topics related to technology, digital transformation, and cybersecurity were discussed. Additionally, the recommendations issued by the sixth conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, held in Cairo last Saturday, were reviewed. A document on the Arab parliamentary vision for safe AI use was adopted, and the group's work strategy was reviewed to determine priorities for the upcoming period.
On the sidelines of the meetings, members of the parliamentary working group met with HE of the Jordanian House of Representatives Ahmed Safadi. The meeting discussed parliamentary efforts to enhance the use of artificial intelligence, as well as the group's activities and efforts in supporting joint Arab work.
It's worth noting that the high-level parliamentary working group on technology, innovation and digital transformation was established in March 2022 as the first Arab parliamentary network in the field of science and technology. Its goal is to build bridges of cooperation and coordination among Arab parliaments and to promote interest in science and technology in all fields, in line with the goals of sustainable development.
