The Arab Parliamentary Union appreciates Qatar's efforts to support Palestine

The Arab Parliamentary Union appreciated the efforts of the State of Qatar, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, noting its efforts to bring humanitarian and relief aid into the Strip without restrictions or conditions.

This came in the (Algeria Declaration) issued by the thirty-sixth conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, which was hosted by Algeria over two days, and concluded its work today, with the participation of the Shura Council.

The conference announcement praised the initiative of the State of Qatar to treat 1,500 Palestinians in its hospitals, in continuation of its steadfast support and its continuing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The conference valued the role of the State of Qatar towards promoting stability and peace in the region, through diplomatic mediations and humanitarian initiatives, bridging viewpoints and resolving conflicts peacefully, which enhances security and stability for the peoples of the region.

The attendees stressed that Qatar's efforts confirm its commitment to the issues of the Arab nation and its endeavor to strengthen Arab solidarity and cooperation between countries to ensure a better future.

The attendees stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue as a priority that cannot be disputed or interpreted, denouncing the crimes and violations committed by Israel against the brotherly Palestinian people.

The declaration called on the international community to adhere to international law and Security Council resolutions to stop these crimes, which rise to the level of genocide and war crimes. He also pointed out the importance of granting the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations, appreciating the positions of countries that recognized the State of Palestine, such as Spain, Norway, and Ireland.

The conference stressed the need to unify Arab efforts to support the Palestinian cause in all international forums. Emphasizing the rejection of racist Israeli practices.

The declaration called for strengthening Arab cooperation in facing security, economic and social challenges, praising the efforts of Arab countries in supporting Palestine and working to achieve just peace.

He stressed the rejection of terrorism and extremism, calling for strengthening dialogue to achieve sustainable peace. He stressed the importance of combating "Islamophobia" through the United Nations General Assembly's decision to appoint a special envoy to combat hatred against Muslims.

The conference highlighted the need to strengthen dialogue between civilizations and peoples to spread the values of tolerance and peace.

The Shura Council delegation had participated in the meetings of the Union’s committees, namely the Palestine Committee, the Social Committee, Women, Children and Youth, and the Political Affairs and Parliamentary Relations Committee, which submitted its recommendations that were adopted by the conference.

The Council was represented in the work of the closing day by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al-Dhabet Al-Dosari and His Excellency Mr. Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Obaidan, members of the Council.
