The Shura Council State of Qatar

His Excellency Mr. Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud, Secretary General of the Shura Council, extended his best congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the country, "may God protect him", to His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir, on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar, expressing his pride and appreciation for the deep meanings that this day carries, reflecting national unity and cohesion between the leadership and the people.

His Excellency pointed out in a statement on the occasion of the country's National Day that this dear national occasion represents an opportunity to recall the great sacrifices made by the founding fathers in order to build a strong, advanced state, adding that these sacrifices resulted in a nation distinguished by its achievements in various fields.

His Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar has achieved tremendous progress at the regional and international levels, whether in the economic, political or social fields, "as it has become a model to be emulated in stability and comprehensive development”.
His Excellency pointed out the Shura Council's keenness to perform its national role by enhancing legislative work and fruitful cooperation with government agencies to ensure sustainable development. He added that the Council strives to support national policies and initiatives that contribute to achieving the aspirations of the Qatari people, stressing the importance of collective work between all sectors of society in order to preserve gains and enhance Qatar's global position. In this regard, His Excellency pointed out that the Shura Council completed the draft constitutional amendments after paying great attention to it and studying it extensively in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership, which reflects the enhancement of popular participation and the application of the principles of justice, the rule of law and equal citizenship.
His Excellency the Secretary General of the Shura Council stressed that the National Day represents an occasion to renew the pledge of allegiance to the homeland and its wise leadership, calling on everyone to continue working with sincerity and dedication to achieve more progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir of the country.
His Excellency added that the National Day is an occasion to enhance pride in the national identity and authentic Qatari values that combine authenticity and modernity, while adhering to the values of the true Islamic religion, stressing the importance of preserving these values and instilling them in future generations. 
His Excellency pointed out that this occasion also represents a call to renew the commitment to continue building on the solid foundations laid by the founding fathers, through hard work and effective contribution to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
