The Shura Council participated in the 53rd meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), held today via video conferencing.
The Council was represented at the meeting by HE Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie, Member of the Shura Council and Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.
The meeting discussed several topics, most notably developments in the Middle East and reviewed the preliminary agenda for the 19th General Assembly, scheduled to be held in Rome next February.
The meeting also dealt with parliamentary efforts to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling, as well as the legal report on the financial situation and budget of the Assembly, updates on the parliamentary passport, and other issues.
Participants emphasized the importance of enhancing regional parliamentary cooperation to address common challenges and support peace and development efforts in the Mediterranean region.
