He holds a Bachelor's degree in Management and Economics, majoring in Accounting. He was promoted in the administrative positions at the Ministry of Education, then moved to work in the General Authority of Civil Aviation, where he was appointed Director of the Department of Joined Services, then President of the Civil Aviation Authority.
He chaired several local committees concerned with civil aviation, and supervised many projects, the most important of which were the application dossier for the establishment of the Doha Aviation Information Region and the project to establish a weather station and radar in Mukaynis.
He was appointed as a member of important international committees, including the Executive Committee of Civil Aviation in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization.
He is a member of the Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group with the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the Council. He also holds the position of Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM).
