The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly session under the chairmanship of Advisory Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
At the beginning of the session, the Advisory Council expressed its pride in the efforts of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to promote Qatar, protect its sovereignty and dignity, and protect the dignity of its people and residents in the face of the unjust siege and campaigns of slander, distortion, doubt and misinformation.
The Council also praised the successful visit of His Highness the Amir to the United States last week that boosted and enhanced the strategic relations between the two countries in different fields so as to serve the common interests of their people.
The Council reaffirmed its steadfast and supportive attitude towards the wise visions of His Highness the Amir, and its support along with the Qatari people for his wise leadership and policy that led to further progress and prosperity in the country.
The Advisory Council also reviewed its agenda, where it discussed the report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on a draft law concerning the unified economic register. After discussions, the Council approved the draft law and referred its recommendations to the Cabinet.
